PTE Academic is a computer-based test for evaluating the English language proficiency of the non-native English speakers who are aspiring to study abroad or seeking immigration. The result will be available within five business days. The three-hour PTE Academic test 2018 appraises a real-life measure of test takers' language ability and the PTE Academic 2018 score is accepted for admission to several institutions across the world, including countries like – Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA.

The PTE Academic exam pattern is for aspirants who plan to study abroad but hail from countries where English is not the native language. PTE Academic test measures candidates on four language skill sets, namely the writing, speaking, reading, and listening. According to the PTE Academic 2018 test pattern, the writing and the speaking modules are integrated into one; Reading and Listening modules are designed separately. All the test takers are evaluated on the basis of the aggregate score obtained from the PTE Academic test. The total duration of the PTE Academic 2018 test is of three hours and the mode of the exam is computer-based. Candidates need to use a computer and a headset to listen, respond and read the questions. Candidates, typically come across real-life academic content like a lecture or made to view charts and graphs.

Part 1 : Speaking & Writing

This evaluates both the writing and speaking abilities of an aspirant. Candidates are asked to repeat sentences, answer questions and summarise given paragraphs. The speaking section 1 contains a personal introduction part which is unscored but still which acts as a chance to introduce themselves to the institute. On the computer screen the candidates can see a recording box and after a beep or tone, they are asked to speak immediately.
